As of last week, I have put to rest the old name for this podcast, the Mo’ Money Podcast, and changed the show’s official name to the More Money Podcast. As I explained in the intro for this episode, it was very much time for this change. As you know, especially from episode 244, I am an ally of BIPOC and a supporter of Black Lives Matter. I’ve also been putting more effort to have a more diverse guest list on the show to ensure there are more voices being heard that need to be.
Still, I had never really stopped to think that my podcast name may come off as offensive to some people. It was once a play on words and was related to my old blog name (Mo’ Money Mo’ Houses), but times have changed. I now realize that if someone stumbles upon my show with no context for where that name came from, they may just assume I’m some white girl who is culturally appropriating language to seem hip or young to attract an audience to my show.
So, I changed the name. I want the name of this show to be a true reflection of who I am, what I support, and my values. Moving forward, this podcast will be called the More Money Podcast, with the tagline “Save more. Earn more. Do more with your money.” Thanks for reading this!
Ok, now onto the special guest for this episode, Meaghan Jean Smith. She is a money mindset and life coach for women who I’ve been following on Instagram for a little while now. She is also the host of the popular Money Mindful podcast and book club. I find her so inspiring and her thoughts on money and mindfulness so interesting, I had to have her on the show so we could dive deeper.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did and make sure to follow Meaghan on Instagram and check out her podcast that dives even deeper into this topic!
