Alison Green from Ask A Manager

It was honestly such a dream to chat with Alison Green from Ask a Manager. As I mentioned in the episode, I read her blog religiously the year I moved to Toronto and was trying to switch careers from advertising sales to digital marketing. Not only was I absolutely credit Alison with helping me revamp my resumé and landing my current job. And it wasn't just a new job I got, I also increased my salary by about about $20,000 compared to the job I left in Vancouver.it a great view into what other people have to deal with in their offices on a day-to-day basis, but she has some darn good advice! Probably the best career advice I’ve ever gotten.

I absolutely credit Alison with helping me revamp my resumé and landing my current job. And it wasn’t just a new job I got, I also increased my salary by about about $20,000 compared to the job I left in Vancouver. That’s a lot of meatballs!

The reason I wanted to interview Alison for this episode is because when it comes to personal finance, a big element is how much you take home.

You can only save so much, so if you feel like you’re stuck in a dead-end job and not making your worth, it’s time to do something about it. It’s definitely scary switching jobs or careers, but in my experience it can also be the best decision you could ever make.

Got a Work/Career-related Question for Alison?

I’m not ashamed to say it, I’ve totally submitted a question for Alison to answer on the blog a few years ago, and she answered it too! It was the coolest thing to get her insight into my situation, so if you want to pick her brain, I highly suggest submitting your question to Alison too.
