– Zandile Chiwanza, Personal Finance Journalist

This week I’m so excited to be joined by someone who I met at one of my live events 5 years ago and since have had the privilege to see them thrive as an important voice in the Canadian personal finance space. Zandile Chiwanza is a personal finance journalist and self-proclaimed “budget warrior”. In this episode, Zandile takes us through how she navigated debt, and how Twitter was the catalyst for her career.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Zandile came to Canada as an international student in 2010. Through her own struggles with debt and trying to pay for school and bills, her personal finance journey began. Zandile’s writing as a financial journalist aims to empower people and reassure them that financial wealth is attainable, no matter your circumstance. Her work focuses on the intersection between mental health, financial wellness, and race.

I love Zandile’s writing and I was so excited to have her on the show. Our chat was so motivational for anyone who’s worried about how they’ll ever get out of debt or figure out their finances. Zandile also is an advocate for crushing your debt, while not sacrificing having fun and living your life.
