- Reviewed in Canada on November 11, 2021Verified PurchaseI really enjoyed this book. I am a university student and wanted to learn more about personal finance. I especially liked that the book was written by a Canadian so it was specific to the laws, taxes, types of bank accounts that we have. It covered a lot, which is what I was hoping for, like RRSPs, TFSAs, mortgages and down payments, credit cards, how to save money, etc. I had very limited prior knowledge on these topics before reading. It was definately a good book for someone who does not know a lot about money, and I learned a lot from it.

- Reviewed in Canada on September 29, 2014Verified PurchaseI found this book very helpful and interesting. I have read several personal finance books, and found many of them to be a very dry read. This book; however, managed to connect with me on a different level. I finished the whole thing quickly thanks to the method of story telling and relating personal finance to pop culture in many instances.
I feel like this is something that they should offer to University students in their first week of school to get them started on the right financial path. I definitely would have benefited having this 10 years ago when I started at the University of Guelph. Still, 10 years later, I find much of the information to be helpful in guiding me down a positive financial path.
Shipping through Amazon was quick, and I had the book within a few days of ordering.
Great read, and highly recommended!
- Reviewed in Canada on November 24, 2020Verified PurchaseAs a tax accountant and fellow author whose clients are constantly asking me personal finance questions, I strongly feel that Wealthing Like Rabbits is an absolute must-read for any Canadian looking to get their personal finances under control.
Every Grade 12 student in Canada should be forced to read this book. Every college and university student should read this book. If our governments were smart, they would add this book to every provincial school curriculum as soon as possible.
I will be recommending this book to all my clients and anyone who asks me personal finance questions.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 31, 2020Verified PurchaseI thought it was great for anyone under 30 (basically the intent of the author). The choices for a larger house, etc was quite good and simple. However, I do have one huge negative. Not sure how the author can write for newspapers, write books, etc without knowing one basic element to disparaging mutual funds. His claim is that mutual fund posted rates are before fees, they are AFTER. The posted rates for mutual fund fees (MERS) are deducted before they are posted. Such a simple miss, but so important for anyone trying to choose between mutual funds and ETFs. It made me very suspect about the rest of the book, but as said before he did a very good job all in all.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 25, 2021Verified PurchaseI'm still reading this. Its incredibly easy to read, the author gives great scenarios in order to paint a picture to understand how dept and credit work. This isn't for millennial its for everyone. I did extensive research on books of this type. Very few that are easier to digest to newbs to the details of the finance world are actually written by Canadians for Canadians so the info in this book is extremely valuable to me. The author has a great sense of humour as well! I'd highly recommend!

1.0 out of 5 stars So basic....so bad....such a waste of money
Verified PurchaseVery basic here is the advice. Buy a cheap house, pay off your mortgage as quick as possible and all other debt is bad.
A waste of money and time. Do not buy.
