What a week. Last week was literally one of the craziest weeks ever, but also one of the most fulfilling. Listen, I get a lot of new ideas, and for years I never did anything with them. Usually, I’d just come to the conclusion that I couldn’t make it happen and would just carry on with my life.

I’m not exactly sure what’s changed in the past year and a half, but I’ve had a big fire in my belly for getting things done and realizing some of my big ideas…and it’s frickin’ awesome.

Case in point, I successfully pulled off my idea for the Millennial Money Meetup. I had the idea back in the spring, and once I secured a sponsor for it (thank you EQ Bank!), I had a month to put it all together.

And I did it! I honestly don’t know how I did considering I was also in the middle of buying a home, moving, going to Vancouver for a week, working full-time, and writing on my blog and recording podcast episodes, but I guess if there’s a will there’s a way?

The last event I put on was my wedding 3 years ago, so I was pretty nervous putting on an event in Toronto that was of this magnitude. I had 140 seats to fill and I was so nervous no one would show up and this first event would be my last. Luckily that wasn’t the case! Not only did I have to close registration after only two weeks, but we were a full house!

First off, I just want to say a big thank you to all of you blog readers, podcast listeners, and “fans” (it seems so weird for me to even say that) for coming! You don’t even know how much you made my life that night. I put on this event for you, so it was so cool to have you come and do exactly what I had envisioned — hang out with other Millennials and talk about money! Words can’t express how grateful I am, and I seriously can’t wait to do the next event.

Another big thank you to my wonderful money expert panelists: Barry Choi, Michelle Summerfield, and Daniel Teo. You guys were amazing, and had some fantastic answers to the questions. This event was a success because you were part of it. Thank you, a million times thank you!

Got a Money Question?

As I mentioned in the video, we received a number of money questions from attendees we’ll be answering at a later event, but I would love to know what you think. What money questions do you have that you’d like us to talk about next time? Leave them in the comments!

  1. Wow it’s amazing how you get so much done. You should do one of those day in the life posts so we can see how you manage so many projects in your life and be so productive. Congrats on the event, sounds like it was a big success!

That’s actually a good idea, though it may scare some people away from following in my footsteps. The key is to never truly sleep lol.

  2. Love this! Live events are where it’s at. It’s a great way to connect and share info!
